According to Coxe, a phantom coach carries the spectres of four bridesmaids around the lanes. Local lore states that they were returning from a wedding late one night and simply disappeared. No trace of them were ever found.
It is believed that if you see their pretty faces, all will be well. However, should they be headless, this may well fortell impending disaster.
